Whimbrel

A quick visit after work on the 21st July was rewarded with a fleeting visit by a Whimbrel.  This bird flew in silently and luckily flew through my scope or I might have missed it.  It landed almost out of sight behind vegetation but then proceeded to feed along the edge of the spit.  About five minutes later, for no apparent reason, it too off calling as it went and departed to the north.  This is only my second Whimbrel this year, following an equally brief bird in the Spring.
